Go west
Leaving the Medina River we soak up the seaside vibe of Cowes, sailing capital of the UK. Hold tight as we apply the power, skirting the leafy northern tip of the island and cruising round towards Thorness Bay and the Hamstead Heritage Coast. If tide allows, we peer into Newtown Creek a peaceful haven for wildlife and a secret anchorage amongst yachtsman.
Hugging the coast to ensure the best views we continue west past Bouldnor Forest and the salty seaside town of Yarmouth. Approaching Alum Bay we ease off the throttles, slow down for refreshments whilst cruising under the spectacular Cretaceous cliffs and coloured sands. Plenty of photography opportunities await as we approach the Needles and spectacular chalk stacks with commanding Tennyson Down above.
After an optional stop over at Yarmouth we cross the Solent and run north east along the New Forest coastline towards Beaulieu River. Quintessentially English, the sheltered river journey is magical as we wind our way through oak woodland and grassy meadows.
Back to the Solent we blast direct to Egypt Point and begin our return up the river and back to harbour.
